Michael
We first met in high school. We both started working for a small ice cream parlor in Chesterfield, VA called Carmichael's Ice Creamery. Hours of scooping ice cream led to cramped wrists and a blossoming friendship.
Eventually we both left that job after realizing that scooping ice cream for a little more than minimum wage wouldn't lead to an early retirement. We kept in touch for a while until drifting apart.
Years later, in a totally non-stalking way, I found Angela on the now very dated myspace.com. Angela was living in Charlotte, NC while I was still in Richmond, VA. Shortly after I found her on myspace, Angela came to visit old friends in Richmond, and she asked if I wanted to grab lunch. We met for lunch, and it was love at first sight...Err, second sight.
The Proposal
Angela
I usually get home from dance classes pretty late and that was the case the night he proposed. I arrived, pulling my car in the garage to find a note on the door. It was a riddle that led me to my first clue.
I followed several more riddles and clues, all thoughtfully hidden in various things that I loved throughout the house. My final clue was on the bed, and it read, "Will you marry me?" I turned around and Mike was standing behind me. He kneeled and asked me to marry him.
I can't say it was a total surprise because I had been fitted for the ring and I had designed the look of the ring based on one I had found online. But even though it was not a total surprise, Mike's creativity and thoughtfulness made it an unforgettable proposal.
